I was bored one night and stayed up watching the late night advertisement of that thing and it looked awesome! you could use it to cut out stuff for applique I think. They had a bunch of great stuff with quilting things on the commercial.

Is there still practice tomorrow? 3-6 at the stock pavilion? I see nothing saying it's not, and so currently I, Magpie, plan on seeing all of you there.
:-D Please let me know if I should wait until after the holidays.

Uh...no. It is CNC machine primarily designed for the scrapbook industry. As far as I can tell it's max thickness is somewhere around 1/16th of an inch. The material cannot be stretchy or extremely hard. I mean this thing is designed to cut paper.
I have seen it cut through acrylic, vinyl and mylar.

So far I can only find two programs that work with this thing. The Cricut brand and the "Sure cuts a lot" software. The SCAL seems to be cheaper and have better reviews.

Doing some investigation, and it seems that I will need a third party software in order to do my own designs. Will be next year before I can justfy the 70+ bucks for that. I should also look into the thick/deep blades that allow for cutting material up to 1.5mm thick another 30.

Re: Beornve Sponsorship « Result #23 on Dec 17, 2009, 6:17pm »
I am not saying that Beornve is not a viable realm. I would ask for clarification no matter who is was. It is just a good idea to know what exactly they are looking for and be sure they know what they seek.
We should all know better than to assume anything when it comes to Belegarth and how it is run. It can be a big deal if the realm simply isn't ready. If it were not a big enough deal we would just let anyone from anywhere vote from the begining and never take those rights away. As it stands, a realm has to continue to be viable from year to year or get voted out.
Sheesh. This was only brought up because Telanar probably used the wrong word but there is no harm in clarification. If you had read above, the message was quoted and Salamander could not possibly misunderstand. He asked for "speaking rights". Again, I assume nothing.

MISSING!
OK, have to find out where the black bag that is missing from the arrows I was carrying. It has two "snaps" on it, and is all floppy trigger type material. Please let me know if you have it, it is not mine and just need to make sure it is SOMEWHERE. Thanks!

i really think that speaking or voting rights isnt " a big deal". honestly are we so self involved that it really matters who gets to vote on the next big flail rule/obscure rule clarification/whatever. the realm is a good one, they have a system inplace for runnign the realm and attend events regularly, what else would you want them to do?
end rant/
i am sure that either telenar misspoke, or salamnder misunderstood, or both. i would vote yes to the voting rights of beornve, or how ever it is spelled.

We should still get a confirmation of what it is they are specifically looking for.
A realm that is looking for speaking rights is one thing but a realm applying for voting rights is a bigger deal. There should be no confusion when it comes to this. Since they already have speaking rights, I assume they are looking for voting rights but we should be sure.

To quote the message sent to me;
"Hey, I forgot to talk to you at Rhun Closer. Beornve is looking for someone to sponsor us for speaking rights on the war council. Would Rhun possibly be willing to sponsor?
~Telanar Hrafin Realm Leader Beornve, Eriador "
I did proceed to ask him what exactly he had meant by that, and whether or not the motion had passed the last time it was brought up.
