I had some people interested in what pattern I used to make the coat I wore at Okfest. It is NEWLOOK #6632 size A 10-22. If anyone wants to borrow it I can mail it out. Otherwise it was about $8 at Jo-Ann Fabrics in Freeport, IL.
The pattern is for a short jacket but I added 14" of length so the hem would be about mid shin. I'm normally a size 8ish and the 10 sizing fit snugly with a sweatshirt underneath.
If I were going to make another one I'd make the two front panels wider so they overlap at the bottom.
For extra warmth I used two layers of fabric and added a hood instead of using the neckline pieces. It helped A LOT to use quilt basting spray to hold the layers together before sewing. If you do use the spray make sure you use a piece of cardboard underneath the pieces or you'll make your table/floor very sticky. Cardboard is also nice because the fabric will peel off without getting extra print on it.
I'll also make a diagram of how I made my hand warmer/muff and post it soon.

Do you know if the pattern comes in a big person size? I was discovering how awesome having sleeves would have been at this event.
