Pennets make for easy spear snatching, don't they? Though they do look so very bitchin....

You know, I've honestly only had it happen twice that I can remember. I usually twirl the tassels up, and they generally aren't much of a handhold, I've found. Even then, I don't mind when people snatch the spear for the simple reason that they're not swinging on my friends.

Eh, I mind. But still. This would give me an opportunity to put my nebulous plan of screaming "Jesus take the wheel!!", dropping the spear, and running away in terror.

Lolz...you now must do that. No question.
I guess it really depends. Killian has a lovely habit of grabbing the spear whenever we roll up on him during a line fight. And he usually grabs the spear, resulting in a fun kind of "Taunt the Killian with the Spear" game, which distracts him for a bit, especially since his sword hand is now swordless, and trying to grab the spear. It's fun.

Anyway, I'm trying to think of what to put on the spear...they have a tendency to look so dull, so trying to spruce it up.

I should have a new hydra feast dress, a feast skirt, and pants, done for fest! And maybe a couple more things that I haven't decided on yet... <.< >.>

This is not garb related but is a new project...I am working on my tent, with my friend Jake...so I will finally have the structure for my historically accurate huge (7' x 7' x 7') canvas wedge tent...it will be most awesome...I will get photos up as soon as I have some...so excited!

It doesn't have to be garb related. Just projects you are working on for Fest

I REALLY hope to finally have a sword....and maybe a shield made by then. Using loner gear all season as been a bit of pain. Got an interesting idea for my sword covers too, which I really hope works.

Sword covers make me grumpy...stitching on a curve drives me nuts.
I'm going to try and also get the guitar pick buckler finally done. I just need heavy duty velcro or leather bands to hold it in place on my forearm. Oh, and glue the foam to the board, cover it, and of course, edge it.

You do plan on breathing somewhere in there, right? So yeah, any feelings I had about "oh god, so much to do" just went poof. And gypsierose: I thought about that. Truth be told, half the reason that I choose the clothes I do for the SCA and Belegrth are because of how simple it is to sew 13th century garb for men.

He's got income, time, and a wife who tolerates him for some odd reason.
