I haven't played a mini game in years, and i want to get back into it, but i really don't know where to begin. Fantasy really isn't for me anymore, thematically it's my fav. but between the rules for 8th and the lack of players (minus Kayle) i really don't enjoy arguing for 4 hours only to get tabled and feel defeated. 40k i would like to get back into this but i'd need like an intro class, and a lot of help getting back into it, i haven't played seriously since last edition dark eldar, and i haven't played period since kayle's 40k apocalypse game 3 years ago (which i still feel horrible about) Warma/Hordes. Love the game, but everyone knows i'm not competitive, and i've played enough games where i lose turn 2, which is the point of the game, I get that, but uber competitive isn't for me, i'm too fluffy bunny to really have fun Malifaux. Cool concept, but i don't know anyone who plays Honestly i want to get into 40k just to see you guys more than once a month when i can make practice, but i want to get into a game that people are excited about playing for more than a few months. I really do want to spend more time with Bele peoples, and i miss wargaming, so...HELPS!! Thanks in advance

I maintain that you should do warmachine. Better game overall, and not all of us are super competitive.
We've got fluff bunnies too!
Plus it's cheaper on average.

I will say that my 40k group has been going strong for a number of years now. Frosty just got into it and the 6th edition rule set is really great. It's a great edition for those who love the fluff and want a cinematic feeling game. The game calls it out right in the rulebook, they want you to "forge a narrative" not just beat up your opponent. I still run Apocalypse games and scenario games. In the past it's been twice a year, but this year we're going to run 3. Also pick up games have been more regular with the group especially since I have room in my duplex for a dedicated gaming room. So 40k is definitely an option for you and if you want to pursue it I'm more than willing to go over the new rules and teach you stuff. I'm not a competitive player at all, sure I don't like to lose all the time, but what I want from the game is to have fun and play with toy soldiers. Warmachine/Hordes is a great game. The crew that plays in town has changed a bit from the days when you played (I think) and they seem like a good bunch. I would disagree with Gronk in saying that it is a better game overall. I'm not saying that 40k is better. I'm saying it's different. Just like in Bel you have to find what you enjoy and do that. Both 40k and Warmachine have different audiences and accomplish different things. Start up costs for Warmachine/Hordes are certainly lower than 40k but it doesn't stay that way for long. In the end you'll spend about as much for either game. So if you'd like to get a game of 40k sometime, let me know.

In all honesty i'm my own worst enemy: For example: I wanna play 'Nids (oh..but Bo plays nids, and i can't paint organic very well, and i played skaven and they're a horde army and i got burnt out and there's so many mods that you can/have to do) OK no nids. 99% of the reason i'd decide on 40k or warmahordes is the social aspect. that was the #1 reason i got out of fantasy. It was no longer fun to lose because of the people that played it. Thanks for the offer Kayle, i think it'd be nice to just talk aboot this with someone and have someone calm me down
