Hey all-
What are the rules and regs for Clan of the Hydra? I found a page with the rules for petitioners and the stuff laying out the ranks and moving up. It also had the rules for the tabards in terms of the insignia and different sorts of trim and such. I've had a few people I know ask me about CotH petitioning shtuff and I have to admit that I don't really know that much in terms of the regulations. I know there was page, but I can't find it!
Anyway, I would be willing to help out by creating a listing of rules and such in one coherent document if Kayle, Sorbo, Sir Beuregard and whoever else/the powers-that-be could PM the stuff with it. In my opinion, it would help to get people interested. I know the fact that a unit has a damn good site sparked my interest.
Also, whats the deal on the CotH insignia? How do you guys get it on the tabards? I wanted to make a big beltflag with Wolfpack's insignia (more of a prototype for myself that I'd be willing to make for folks if they wanted it) and thought that whatever you guys do could very well work on a Wolfpack one (I was going to make the insignia all fancy and such with different embellishments that I would never be able to do in fabric paint).'
Anyway, that's all. My friends think I'm crazy that I spent a half hour trying to track down a page on the site.

That's actually being shifted a little and redone. It will be posted soon. There are a few general things that we go off of and could tell you, but I hesitate to post it until all the changes are finalized. PM Kayle or Bo on the petitioner to guard basics. To petition, just ask!
Thanks for the offer - we will definitely let you know if we need help!
What's the deal as in what does it represent? The four heads represent the four founders of Hydra (Kayle, Sorbo, Rook and Djet) and it was designed by Rook, an artist. The language featured is Old English - the sword reads "The Sword of the Monster" and our motto translates as "War Eternal, Fight Forever." We screenprint them onto our tabards because of the high detail. It can be done pretty cheaply, especially in higher numbers.

heres what i know
Plain kelly green tabarb = petetioner
Kelly Green tabard with symbol = Gaurd
Kelly Green Tabard with Symbol And White trim = High Gaurd
Commanders have special swords
petitioners are not sopose to use the symbol until they become a Gaurd but when i was a petitioner i asked if i could put the symbol on a sleeve i made and he said yes so if u wanna u the symbol for something small like that ask kayle
Heres something that Scrapper wrote that i believe is pretty close
Clan of the Hydra as a unit of Belegarth Medieval Combat Society seeks the following: -to serve as an example of good sportsmanship and good natured behavior on and off the field -to create a positive and nurturing environment for members and non-members alike to grow as fighters and members of the Belegarth community -to work towards bettering and expanding Belegarth as a whole, across the nation and beyond -to focus on skirmishing tactics as a unit and on support weapons (pole arms and archery) when a part of the Army of Iron Crown

that last bit was very well put by scrapper. That is the main thing , -to serve as an example of good sportsmanship and good natured behavior on and off the field -to create a positive and nurturing environment for members and non-members alike to grow as fighters and members of the Belegarth community -to work towards bettering and expanding Belegarth as a whole, across the nation and beyond -to focus on skirmishing tactics as a unit and on support weapons (pole arms and archery) when a part of the Army of Iron Crown
follow these and your membership will be in quick pocession.

Thanks a lot- see, I'm not crazy...ish.
What are the official unit colors? I gather it's dark green and black, yes? Someone I know is considering making a unit and was going over colors. He thought that Hydra was hunter green and white.
What patterns do you use for the shirts and the pants? They look ridiculously comfortable, although I was considering using black hakama's with dark green trim.
Do you require the petitioners to wear a specific set of garb?
What is screen printing? I've never really heard of it before and sounds quite useful.
I'm sorry if I seem pestering about questions, I just like to get to know everything in as much depth as I can.

Official unit colors are kelly green and white (Dregoth is at least one I can think of that's dark green and black, but I'm sure there are others...). Our "uniforms" are white tops, black bottoms. We don't specify much from there. I wear a skirt, Kayle pants, and Bo wears "Haks" (aka Hakama). We ask that petitioners, like all Hydra, wear white shirts with black bottoms, and as Smiley said, a plain green tabard. Screen printing is the process used to make basic t-shirts that have an image "painted" on them. It's a way to make a bunch of items uniformly and cheaply. Questions are good.

We like questions.
Questions lead to answers.
Answers lead to interest.
Interest leads to the dark side...... I mean petitioning!!!
Clan of the Hydra rolls the way Clan of the Hydra wants to roll my brother. We like looking uniform, but I wear a black T-shirt and no one gives me flak, CUZ I'D CUT OFF THEIR NUTS AND/OR OUT THEIR OVARIES.
We like green. It's nice. You should wear a tabard that color. Some days I wear my gray suede tabard instead, cuz I gotz the realm pride too. Especially when I roll up on home turf, cuz it's not like they don't know who I roll with, dig?
It makes me laugh when I read your questions cuz you make clan sound like a paramilitary originization sometimes. Like if you didn't wear the right garb we'd demand your tabard AND A FINGER.
I've noticed too that in pics a lot of the hydra guys look like their sportin the same threads, but I decided they either bought all their stuff at the same shop (read: community thrift OOOOOOOOOOOH) or used the same pattern.
Would you fuckin petition already? Just make a damn green tabard, rock it hard, and carve out the eyes of those that oppose you.

I want to fight with/see Hydra while they are in action, which is probably going to happen at Rhun Closer, before I ask for petitioner status, most likely donning the Kelly tabard at the Closer if you guys will have me.
I know, I'm not dragging my feet to draw attention, I won't lie, I'm pretty much sold. It's just that I've only been able to fight with the few folks that make it down here- I want to see what Hydra is like as a cohesive unit, not just you, Bo, Trystan, Bruder, and Kayle kicking ass individually. That's what I like about Hydra is the fact that it's an actual unit- like a regiment in a sense. Not to mention, spear fighting is fuuuun.
Anyway, I really do appreciate the feedback.

You are more than welcome to fight with Hydra at closer, especially if you're petitioning.

Ummmm...quick question...what the hell is Kelly Green? Folks at fabric stores look at me like I'm nuts. It's either the fact that I am nuts, or they'd never seen a guy asking for fabric and the shock of it is too much to handle.
Either way

Thanks guys this is most helpful... Coming from a petitioner that is... so what happened to post/posts reguarding petitioning and attaing the rank of guard? I feel that this would be most helpful to me as well sooner or later... sometime in the next few monthes to a year would be wonderful to know... either way... just curious. ~Sweet Pea~
