Now since I have still not been baptized by foam I will have to leave it inthe good hands of the Rhun to attempt this to see if its a fun viable option for warriors.
PURGATORY
The idea is simple, two teams of equal numbers and weaponry (blue swords or daggers would be best, no shields) The Only hits that count are hits to the arms. Thus rendering your opponent unable to wield a sword.
The prisons start off empty, as in the days of old both teams line up and yell insults at each other and get worked up, Honor battles may be called as people single out esteemed rivals….this is what we call ‘ ambiance. ‘
BATTLE ENSUES!!! If a person falls they go to the prison of the person that beat them. Mutual K.O.’s result in mutual imprisonment of both players.
Now the fun begins. In the corners of the battleground are targets/buckets on a post/foamy skulls….i.e. something to whack that everyone can see if its been whacked. If I boldly run and whack a can off the post ONE PRISONER TEAMATE MAY GO FREE! If I am bold enough and manage to knock off both, ALL PRISONER TEAMATES ARE FREE!!!
You could of course make it more difficult with more whackables..but for a big game two should suffice.
** IMPORTANT! ** FREED PRISONERS…must walk back to their zone with their hands in the air to signify they are unarmed and not targetable. AFTER they have walked back past their zone line they may grab a weapon and fight summore.
If you are not a prisoner you may ‘ fix ‘ the broken whackable and set it upright again thus ensuring that if the other is whacked only ONE prisoner will escape. This comes at some risk of course as you will most likely be attacked while attempting such, and if you are a lone defender expect the other whackable to be attacked as well.
You may play for a set time limit or you may play until one side is completely imprisoned by the other. Think of this more like a structured game of TAG rather than an all out battle.
This is a game that is probably best for training people, and/or grudge matches between rivals. The training aspect encourages planned shots by limiting the viable targets, and promotes strategic decision-making when attempting to rescue prisoner.

I played this game years ago without the foamy weapons as just a tag game, but foamy weapons make it all the more fun!
