Know I've looked around this forum, viewing the various scenarios and such, but now that spring approaches I have a question.
How would/do you guys run a good practice? I am kinda the guy that usually runs practice (Normally.) and am looking to "kick it up a notch" once the weather improves?
Any tips/suggestions? How do you Rhun folks do stuff.

We have a Sir Sorcia, a Sir Beauregaurd and a Lord Kayle. ;D
All silliness aside; we typically warm up with some king of the ring, then a couple of cut throats, followed by two/three person regeneration and finish off with some line battles and some kill your killer. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the general order to things here.

Use cutthroats when people are just milling about. The key is to keep people fighting and keep them excited.
Make sure you call water breaks often enough, but don't let the break last too long. Otherwise people will start to get disinterested and you might lose a couple.

If you have anyone who is just at a different level from the rest of you, like Bo for us here, pick on them at practice. Set up 3-on-1's, or whatever it takes for them to lose. It keeps the sharks sharp, and teaches the minnows to work as a school. It's really useful practice either way, and can be pretty fun fights for both sides.

I concur. The world vs. Bo is always fun. Especially when the younger guys take off on their own while everyone is yelling at them. It's priceless.

We have a Sir Sorcia, a Sir Beauregaurd and a Lord Kayle. ;D sniff, sniff...Where's the love, Gosta? ;D Jorel, One of the things I've done in the past is what I call "Freeze" battles. Basically, you run them as standard battles but when something significant is about to happen such as a flank getting rolled or a break through the line, the marshal calls "Freeze!" Everyone stops in place and the marshal goes into what's about to happen and how to prevent it. Once everyone's got an idea of what to do, the marshal resumes the battle and it continues until the next decision point.

Also, if battles are taking to long or you just want to amp up the intensity, the number one trick for that I've always found is just restricting the space proportionate to the number of fighters. Take any battle, put it in a small enough space that people can split into little nuggets or easily stay disengaged and it'll be faster, more intense, more fun, and much more exhausting.
Oh, and if you really want to amp things up, do a speed battle. Either of two ways: 1) Normal cut throat. As soon as anyone dies, all dead fighters begin counting down from 10. If at any point the count reaches zero, all living fighters lose. The count resets everytime someone dies. This picks up the pace a little and mostly just makes sure that the last few fights don't take too long and keep everyone waiting.
2) Two team battle. Set a time limit. If they one side doesn't win in that time, everyone gets back up and you do it again with less time. Kill anyone who runs from combat. This one gets dangerous if/when you get mean and get down to, say, 5 seconds. Lots of fun though.
If you couldn't tell, I'm a big fan of keeping things moving.

circle of death.
fighters line up in a circle, then you point or say a name of one they enter and fight whoever is there. so you just call on people fast and it gets real intence in the middle.
btw, i have been losing the world vs bo for a while now. Damn why do i fail so much.

Kyrian, that is awesome...Peregrine, if you read this, could we do something like that at practice some time??? Please? lol It sounds like it would be very beneficial to, not only me, but to all the newbies we get...just a thought...
