Hi- I just put in an order with one of our knights-Sir Morpheus- for some armor. I'm getting a pair of bracer's with elbow cops attached to them when we get back for the next semester. My questions are:
1) What do I do for maintenance on leather? I want these to last a long long time and I know Waning Moon (Morpheus's little company) does good work. Do I have to keep it at a certain temp, etc?
2) The arm cannon is black and the elbow cop is dark green (Hydra colors, eh, eh?) I want the colors to stay fairly sharp. Morpheus brought over a pair of his own bracers with the cops and I noticed they were really scuffed and banged up. How do I keep the colors looking really good? Can I redye it, or is it a one time thing?
(BTW- Could I get my "Hydra Kin" thingy under my name changed to "Petitioner"? The status changed at the Closer.

I would say that you should get some Neutral shoe polish and a buff brush. Apply the polish to your leather and buff to a dull shine. this will help protect the leather from everyday scuffs. Mink oil or neetsfoot oil for the straps and buckles, it will help prevent cracking and prolong the life of your leather. Hope it helps

If the leather gets wet, either by sweat, rain, or falling in the mud, let the armor air dry before storing it. If you throw wet leather in a bag and leave it there for a while, you're going to find some nasty mold...and it'll be mold that doesn't want to leave your armor. 8(

Take a look at my greaves sometimes. Good example of not taken care of leather. I like the banged up look though, looks like they've seen some action.
